Screensaver "Three Lens Appraoch" Album Launch
Melbourne/Naarm post-punk band screensaver launch their third album Three Lens Approach at The Tote on November 15th.
Taking cues from the late 70’s and early 80’s, screensaver delivers a third LP that builds on its predecessors. Asymmetrical song structures are propelled forward by a more than danceable rhythm section weaving through polyrhythms of classic synth sounds and frenetic guitars.
The album’s theme is power; how we wield it through language and action, how society is affected by existing power structures, the consequences of the absence of it and how we harness it, as individuals and as the collective. The lyrics explore the theme through societal observation, miniature character portraits and vignettes of stolen scenes from everyday life/conversations. Weighty themes delivered via dark but danceable music.
Recorded by Julian Cue and mastered by Casey Rice, Three Lens Approach is released via Poison City Records.
